Essentially, I'm your friend down the street who started blogging, and then life threw lemons (AKA Divorce), and suddenly I found myself here, talking to you!

My friend and I were out the other evening, enjoying drinks on a patio, when a waiter came up to us, exclaiming his excitement for my friend’s T-shirt, which had a large image of Frida Kahlo. He continued his excitement, practically throwing his phone at my friend, “You must read this poem; Frida is amazing. I love her!” Besides knowing that she was a famous Mexican artist, I knew very little about Frida Kahlo. However, the poem my friend read aloud clearly shows she had talents in other areas, very moving for both of us, beautifully written. So I thought I would share.

“You deserve a lover that wants you dishevelled, with everything and all the reasons that wake you up in haste, with everything and the demons that won’t let you sleep.

You deserve a lover that makes you feel safe, who can consume this world whole if he walks hand in hand with you; someone who believes that his embraces are a   perfect match with your skin.

You deserve a lover that wants to dance with you, who goes to paradise every time he looks into your eyes and never gets tired of studying your expressions.

You deserve a lover that listens when you sing, who supports you when you feel shame and respects your freedom; that accompanies you when you fly and isn’t afraid to fall.

You deserve a lover that takes away the lies and brings you hope, coffee, and poetry.”

FRIDA KAHLO

Love this! Discovering this poem was no accident; in fact, maybe it was synchronicity. The universe works in mysterious ways. My friend’s T-shirt brought this poem to our waiter’s attention. And, he happened to have a message to share. It’s a small example of what might come your way if you keep yourself open to the many beautiful possibilities.
