I’m still here 😊
No, I haven’t abandoned my blog… in fact, quite the opposite.
I’m still writing, just not as much here. Lately, I’ve been spending more time over on Substack, where I’ve been sharing little bits of life, travel, thoughts, observations, and whatever else happens to be rattling around in my head. You can read my posts here.
And then there’s my memoir,
Since finishing it, I’ve been focused on querying literary agents, making yet another pass through my manuscript, and having some really interesting conversations with people in the publishing world.
The feedback has been encouraging. It’s also frequently been followed by some version of :
“Memoirs? They’re the hardest thing to get published.” 🤯
Well, that’s just fabulous.
Apparently, writing 78,000 words about your life blowing up, putting it back together, dating in midlife, travelling solo, falling in love again, and moving to Paris was the easy part.
Who knew?
But I’m not giving up. I’m still querying. I’m still tinkering. I’m still having conversations and exploring where this story might go next.
ICovet has been part of my life for a long time, and I’m not ready to abandon it—or you. I still love sharing travel, beautiful places, food, and all the things I covet here. But lately, my writing has become a little more personal, and Substack has given me a place to explore that.
It feels a little different from ICovet. Less like sitting down to write a proper blog post and more like sending a note to a friend. Sometimes it’s about travel. Sometimes midlife. Sometimes Paris. Sometimes it’s simply something I’ve noticed that I can’t stop thinking about.
So, while ICovet isn’t going anywhere, you may find me over there a little more often these days.
If you’ve wondered where I disappeared to, come find me on Substack.
I’m still here.
I’ve just wandered a little further down the internet.
Come say hi!
