Ah yes..there’s nothing more comfortable than an old pair of jeans, (preferably ripped) a t-shirt and flip-flops, standard issue for me. Of course, some may argue, sweatpants may be more comfortable, I prefer jeans. Lingerie, (sorry, not your generic brand) is another item that’s comfortable which gives you a feeling of being pretty, sexy and confident. Who knew, that a little lace and silk could make a person feel so good?
Being comfortable means many things to many people, for instance, chilling at home with a cup of coffee and a great book is comfortable. Or, taking off a pair of shoes after walking for hours (especially in heels), definitely comfortable. I suppose it’s all relative, being comfortable makes us feel at ease, relaxed, happy and content.
What about being comfortable in one’s own skin? I would like to think of myself as a confident woman, taking life in stride, and yet, I have a vulnerable side, more so than I realised. I have really stepped out of my comfort zone, as of late, having the nothing ventured, nothing gained or YOLO, attitude. Putting yourself out there is difficult but being confident and putting yourself out there, can actually make you feel comfortable. If you don’t take risks, you’ll always wonder, right? Reminding myself, this is not a dress rehearsal!
I often think of moments when I should have had the confidence to try something different, throwing my fears out the window…but I didn’t. Perhaps stopping myself because of rejection, not being good enough or pretty enough? Confidence is sexy. Straight up!
To be comfortable in your own skin can be hard to do, we tend to go down the path of uncertainty, self-doubt and worry too much about what other people think. I’m guilty of this, and I’m trying hard to say, forget about it! Embrace life, have fun, face your fears and do what makes you happy, recognise your best qualities and remember that “confidence is the sexiest thing a woman can wear.” Bam! So if it feels good, wear it, and you’ll be able to rock everything else in your life too!
