A woman's supposed "prime" is between 30-39 — socially, professionally, physically, sexually, and emotionally. OMG! That couldn't be further from the truth. I'm just getting started! I'm here to dispel any notions of what your fifties should look like (or any age for that matter). Age is just a number, right?! Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something because you're of a certain age. I may be older, but I'm still a kid at heart with an eagerness to learn through my experiences, which has taught me many skills and life lessons. I know myself more now than I ever have, chalk it up to those experiences and deciding not to worry what other people think. I'll do it my way, thank you very much!

As for "What the "F" just happened?!" Life happens for a reason; you decide whether or not you're going to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and tell yourself, "I GOT THIS!" Wherever you are in your life, you're bound to have come across similar situations as I have. Through my own personal stories, I hope to inspire, motivate and ignite the fire inside of you.  Better yet, let's inspire each other! What's your fire?

Marilyn Monroe once said, "Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." Four years ago, my twenty-seven-year marriage ended; with this came my personal journey on my I Covet blog.

It's been a journey, and yes, there were a few bumps in the road, but nothing is stopping me.

“Life is too short to chase anything that doesn't light a fire in you...”

Everyone has a Story...

I'm on the other side of "what the "F" just happened?" Guess what?! Things fell apart and I survived! This new life of mine took a while for me to adjust. Now that the dust has settled, I can honestly say I'm in my best place ever! Whatever the thorn is to your side, I believe everything happens for a reason. It's your time to move on, trust me, something better is waiting for you. Every now and then, a rose needs to fight off the thorns so she can blossom into her full potential.

“Things end, People change. And you know what? Life goes on, and it will be awesome!”

you do you...

There's a lot to be grateful for, especially during these unprecedented times. It goes without saying, my life would not be complete without my family, friends and that special man in my life. Oh, and let's not forget the UPS delivery guy; cuz a girls' gotta shop! My life isn't overly complicated; honestly, a good hair day or fitting into my jeans is something to be thankful for. Seriously though, it wasn't easy adjusting to our new ways in lockdown, which felt nothing short of a sci-fi thriller! I worried, how will we survive this? In hindsight, how will we cope with going back to our old ways? What will that look like? I am grateful for the downtime; if only we learn from this experience going forward and remember what we've lost when life goes back to normal, whatever our new normal will be?
